Abu Dhabi Welcomes Next-Generation Drilling Waste Management with TWMA’s Habshan Facility

DUBAI, UAE, 17th December 2025: TWMA, a global leader in drilling waste management, has officially commenced operations at its newly constructed drill cuttings treatment facility in Habshan, Abu Dhabi, marking a significant milestone for the UAE’s energy and environmental services sector.

The first receipt of drill cuttings at the site signals the operational launch of what is now the world’s most advanced and self-sustaining drilling waste management facility of its kind. Construction began in late Q1 2025, with the facility purpose-built to support more than 100 rigs for a major UAE operator and engineered to process up to 300 tonnes of drill cuttings per day.

The Habshan facility is powered by two of TWMA’s industry-leading RX Series RotoMill™ units, integrating state-of-the-art material handling with intelligent, real-time tracking and performance analytics through TWMA’s proprietary Xlink™ digital platform. The sustainably powered plant and treatment systems are designed to significantly reduce environmental impact, while the modular layout allows for seamless future expansion to three RotoMill units as operational demand and regional activity increase.

Beyond its technical capabilities, the facility has been designed as a safe, inclusive, and high-quality working environment, reflecting TWMA’s commitment to operational excellence, workforce wellbeing, and long-term sustainability.

Commenting on the launch, Halle Aslaksen, Chief Executive Officer at TWMA, said:
“This facility highlights the strength of our engineering expertise, the capability of our people, and the scale of infrastructure required to deliver world-class drilling waste management services in the region.

The Habshan facility, internally known as ‘The Oryx’, demonstrates what can be achieved when advanced engineering is combined with a strong culture of continuous improvement. We are excited about the future as we continue to set new industry benchmarks across the Middle East.”
