This New Year carries a different meaning for me.
It marks 15 years since the birth of Business News—15 years of persistence, belief, setbacks, reinvention, and growth. What began as a brave idea during uncertain times has today become a respected media platform with a global voice. Reaching this milestone is not just a celebration of time passed, but a celebration of resilience.
Business News was not born in stability. It was born in crisis.
In 2009, in the aftermath of the global financial collapse, I stood at a crossroads. I was working as a regional manager for an international publication, witnessing from the inside how quickly the media world could fall apart. That year, newsrooms shut down across the world, legendary titles disappeared, and one of the most painful moments for me was the closure of the Arabic edition of Newsweek. It was a wake-up call that changed my path forever.
Instead of stepping away from journalism, I chose to rebuild it—on my own terms.
In early 2009, I began planning what would later become Business News. The process was slow, demanding, and filled with uncertainty. Licensing, legal procedures, and months of preparation took place long before the first issue ever saw the light. There were no guarantees—only determination and faith in the value of honest business journalism.
When we launched Business News Magazine in 2010, print was still dominant. Our website existed merely as a mirror of the print edition, updated once a month. Social media was not yet a newsroom priority, and few believed readers would one day consume business news on their phones, in real time, across multiple platforms.
Then the world changed again.
The digital revolution and the rise of social media reshaped how audiences consumed information. It was our second major challenge—and perhaps the hardest. We were forced to adapt, learn quickly, and reinvent ourselves without losing our identity. We succeeded at times and failed at others, but we never stopped moving forward. Giving up was never an option.
Today, fifteen years later, I look at Business News with immense pride.
What started as a single print magazine has evolved into a multi-platform media group, reaching readers across the Middle East, Europe, Asia, and beyond. Our website attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors every month, and our social media platforms connect us with a global audience across Instagram, LinkedIn, X, TikTok, and YouTube.
More importantly, Business News has remained true to its purpose.
In an age where misinformation travels faster than truth, we have protected our credibility fiercely. We report with transparency, balance, and responsibility—without sensationalism, exaggeration, or compromise. Trust has always been our most valuable asset.
This 15-year journey would not have been possible without the people behind it—the dedicated team who believed in the vision, the partners who trusted us, and the readers who chose us, year after year.
As we celebrate this milestone and step into a new year, my commitment remains unchanged: to keep evolving, to keep innovating, and to continue delivering business journalism that informs, inspires, and earns trust.
Fifteen years later, the journey continues—and the belief is stronger than ever.
