DEWA celebrates 51st National Day in a distinguished patriotic atmosphere

Dubai, UAE, 28 November 2022: In a distinguished patriotic atmosphere, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) celebrated the 51st National Day, with the participation of HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA, Executive Vice Presidents and Vice Presidents. Many employees and customers participated in the celebrations, which featured patriotic and heritage activities.

HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer conveyed his sincere congratulations to His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE; His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai; Their Highnesses the Members of the Supreme Council and Rulers of the Emirates; Their Highnesses the Crown Princes; and all citizens and residents of the UAE on the occasion of the 51st UAE National Day.

“On this day, we feel the greatness of our glorious union that was established by the Founding Fathers, may their souls rest in peace, on the 2nd of December 1971. We are proud of our wise leadership, who continue the process of growth and development and have placed the UAE among the developed countries. The name of the UAE has become a synonym for excellence and prosperity, as well as anticipating and shaping the future. Its experience has become a source of inspiration for the countries and people of the region and the world, and its achievements are a source of pride for every citizen and resident of this generous land. The UAE tops global competitiveness indicators. This year, it ranked first in the world in 156 indicators and among the top ten in 432 indicators. The UAE also occupies the first place globally in attracting talent, infrastructure, flexibility of laws, and ability to adapt, among others,” said Al Tayer.

“At DEWA, we are proud that we contribute to making achievements that enhance the global status of the UAE through major projects and innovative initiatives. These play an effective role in sustainable development and consolidate Dubai’s position as a global hub for finance, trade, tourism, and a green economy. We are guided by our belonging to this generous country and our loyalty to the wise leadership motivates us to continue our sincere work to enhance the competitiveness of the UAE in various fields, inspired by the ‘Spirit of the Union’ as a driving force so that the UAE flag remains fluttering high in gratitude to the spirits of the Founding Fathers, and in fulfilment of the vision and directives of the wise leadership,” added Al Tayer.

“We pray to Almighty Allah to continue to protect the UAE and bless it with security and safety and to direct our steps to continue our sincere efforts to promote the competitiveness of the UAE and make it the world’s leading nation by its Centennial in 2071,” concluded Al Tayer.

DEWA’s celebrations of the National Day included a poetry session by Emirati poets Mosbeh Ali Al Kaabi, Theyab Al Mazrouei, and Saif Al Saadi. The celebrations featured a wide range of heritage activities, including a performance by Al Harbiya Band, traditional games, and a corner for traditional Emirati food, in addition to participation from Dubai Club for People of Determination. In line with DEWA’s efforts to instil a spirit of belonging and loyalty among the younger generations, students from Al Hudaibia Primary School performed several patriotic songs. The celebrations also included a video on DEWA’s celebrations of Flag Day and the National Day at its buildings, and its achievements.
